BASIC OF POETRY
As the title of that book, this more
talk about what poetry actually is. We
need to read this book before start to learn more about poetry. This is the
basic and and the history of many poetry before modern session era. it looks at
the ways in which poetry interacts with the language we use in our everyday
lives and explores how poems use language and form to create meaning. This book
also highlights the basic elements of poetry. So, by read this book we can
distinguish weather the language can be categorizing as a poem or daily
conversation, there are so many examples about the kinds of poem itself. Make
us very easy to understand the explanation indeed. I was interested in chapter
7 (stanza), there are many senses of stanza according to every country (
English, French, Italy, etc.) and also there are many kinds a number of line.
Start from four lines, and until seven lines that is called septet.
THE
ART OF POETRY
The whole of this book study about
how the poetry in English tradition specifically poems which written in modern
English. We will be introduced us to the significant lyrics of poem that makes
up the English tradition. this book also talk about how the words was chosen by
the poetic or we called it diction. Basically the whole each chapter in this
book group of poems, focusing discussion as much as possible through the
specific topic, or interest, to which the chapter is devoted. The poems
illuminate the topic, and the topic illuminates the poems. Some chapters in
this book are concerned mainly with stylistics. Some are more historical, some,
more theoretical. Or we can compare from previous book about The Basic of
Poetry, it was the basically fundamental of knowledge in poetry, then we come
to learn more about poetry in The Art of Poetry. It also means that we must be
able to read it chronologically.
